The Complete Substitute for All Forms of Sociability

Season 2 is premiering tomorrow! I can hardly wait. So to tide me over 'til the season's premiere becomes available on piratebay, I got myself the webisodes, which tell the story of the half-zombie that Rick kills out of pity in Season 1. Plot? Not much there considering the time constraint but I have to say that it's pretty gory -- gorier than even the series, and the quality of the zombie make-up hasn't downgraded one bit. The actors are obviously amateurs, especially the guy. The kids did pretty okay, and Hannah herself (that's the half-zombie's name although the series is sort of an origin story for her so it shows her as a human) does really well portraying the mother caught between a rock and a hard place.

Photo from here . I had a mean streak. When I was in first grade, there were these two kids that I used to bully all the time. One was a boy and the other a girl. I'll never forget their names until the day I die. God, I was so mean to them. I'd pinch them for no reason at all, and at one point I'd stick them with  mahjong  and I'd even press hard so it would  hurt . I don't know the official name of mahjong  but it's a kind of weed that has thorny/spiky flowers/seeds. I think I probably punched the boy, too. As for the girl, well, she was almost my neighbor and there were so few people living near our place that time and we were the only ones with a TV set, so this girl and her brothers and friends would come to our place to watch TV, and I'd be there watching them. Closely . They'd watch TV from outside our window but we had these flowerbeds right beneath the window and my mother always made sure that they never stepped on these flowerbeds. So tak...

So I've been watching a lot of TV and movies on my PC these days. I like the instant accessibility of the media but I also think my brain is turning to mush. I need text. Not only that, I need high-brow  text. So, survey my reading list: O Pioneers! by Willa Cather Part of my recent horde from Book Sale. Honestly, I love that store -- especially the one at Robinson's. Less crowded, yet more choices, and I always seem to find some literary gem whenever I drop by the place. Last time, it was Ethan Frome. Now, this. One of my favorite books was The Song of the Lark  by the same author. Admittedly, reading Cather is...work, but the end result is always satisfying. O Pioneers!  seems to be a love story of sorts so, in a way, it's more appealing than Song, which took the realization of an artist as its subject. A Clash of Kings by George R. R.
