I have loved the stars too truly to be fearful of the night

THE OLD ASTRONOMER. - Sarah Williams R EACH me down my Tycho Brahé,—I would know him when we meet, When I share my later science, sitting humbly at his feet; He may know the law of all things, yet be ignorant of how We are working to completion, working on from then till now. Pray, remember, that I leave you all my theory complete, Lacking only certain data, for your adding, as is meet; And remember, men will scorn it, 'tis original and true, And the obloquy of newness may fall bitterly on you. But, my pupil, as my pupil you have learnt the worth of scorn; You have laughed with me at pity, we have joyed to be forlorn; What, for us, are all distractions of men's fellowship and smiles? What, for us, the goddess Pleasure, with her meretricious wiles? You may tell that German college that their honour comes too late. But they must not waste repentance on the grizzly savant's fate; Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light; I have loved the s...

Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky

ART POST: Galaxy Watchers

Last year, I got myself some acrylic paints despite no prior knowledge of how to use this medium. I thought they're like watercolours. Needless to say, I AM WRONG. Still, I forged on and found beginner class videos on YouTube made by cool artists to give me an idea. This is my first take. "Galaxy Watchers" 9' x 12' Canvass Acrylic

ART POST: Suba

This is Suba, anito of the river. An original character (OC) I made for a story I'm developing that incorporates Filipino myths and legends. Experimented on wet-on-wet watercolour technique. Not sure if I got it right...but I uh like how the hair turned out.

ART POST: Maniac

Meet Dr. Azumi Fujita, a character from HBO's Maniac , played with such style and flair by Sonoya Mizuno. Medium: Blank sign pen and pentel pen on bond paper. I really enjoyed that show. The images were so good and memorable, I just had to draw one of my fave looks.

ART POST: Water Color Practice

This was a gift for a friend on her birthday. She's a psych major so I thought I'd give it a psychology theme. Her favourite colour is green, so there's that, too. The quote is by Emily Dickinson but I substituted "mind" for "brain." My first time in a while trying water colour. I have no technique obviously. My brush work needs practice. A lot of practice. But I like how this turned out.

ART POST: Achlys, Greek Goddess of the Death-Mist

Back in October last year, I tried to do the Inktober drawing challenge but was only able to keep it up for a few days. This one for the "poison" prompt. This is Achlys, the Greek goddess of the death-mist, drawn using a panda ballpoint pen on Oslo. Basically, the concept is a woman, who is half-skeletal. She embodies death. I incorporated the poisonous rosary pea to fit the "poison" theme. First posted on my instagram.

Kasugiran: a light novel

That day, it seemed the only sound in the forest was the soft trickle of river water. Even the wind did not dare blow. The trees stood still. The young man standing knee-deep in the middle of the stream made a small movement. In his hand was a spear tipped with sharpened stone. A whole second passed. There was a splash. The young man swung. In the next instant, the spear reappeared in his hand. Stuck to its tip was a large, brown goby. The fish wriggled, struggling to escape, but after only a short time, it stopped moving. The young man removed it and casually placed it inside the wicker basket tied around his waist. Before closing, he inspected his catch. One, two, three goby. One big catfish and three or four smaller variety fishes. Enough for the day. He gazed up but the foliage was so thick, he could only see glimpses of the clear blue sky. It looked like the sky itself was in pieces. He gave a sigh and prepared to wade his way back to the banks. Someone was watching...
