Idea / Inspiration for a "green" mountain resort village

So back in November, we went back to Siparok, Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte to check on our properties there and meet with our tenants. I had an opportunity to see my aunt's semi-organic farm, and I gotta say that I am inspired by it. I want to do something similar with our own lands there. It is a beauty.

Site of My Future Green Mountain Resort Community

Last March, I went with my parents to Mindanao to deal with some land matters. While there, I took the opportunity to check out our properties in Siparok and in Bitoon, all in Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte. I've been to both places before but I've never actually been to our properties. Pictured here is our Bitoon properties. There are two (2) lots: a 6-hectare spot on top of a mountain and a 5-hectare lot a bit lower on the mountain. It used to be part of a 24-hectare ranch owned by my great grandparents. Now, it's basically idle land except for the occasional  copra yield. After seeing it, the vastness of it, its location, I want to build a mountain resort community there. It will be a "green" community that uses only sustainable energy and is self-sufficient. I want to build a hut there with a sari-sari store. Eventually, I want to plant crops there, maybe coffee. I want to introduce developments there to help the community. Maybe a school? At this ...

Sitting in my Hard Drive

I'm teaching now, part-timing teaching college students about the simple intricacies of the law, as well as practicing my profession. More on that later. It goes without saying that I've been busy and have little time to blog or pursue any creative and/or leisure projects at the moment. In fact, I have these...shows that I'm excited about watching, just sitting in my hard drive. But tomorrow's a holiday -- EDSA, the original. I don't have a recollection about the event. I was an EDSA baby but the operative word is "baby." I wasn't yet...err, sentient when the history of the Filipinos wrote itself. All I really know about this great historical happening is what I've read from books and what my brothers and sister tell me about their memories. Second-hand information and I am already so detached. So tomorrow....TV will be so full of P.Noy and Cory and EDSA tributes. Eh. I'll be on my computer, watching my shows.   Black Lagoon OVA: Roberta...

Happy Easter

Lent ends today. I did not see the S ugat  in our local parish. I actually woke up when the church bell rang for the mate  at around 2:30a.m. but didn't get up to get ready. I was waiting for my mom to come to my room and verbally abuse me into getting up and about at that freakishly early hour. Surprisingly, she didn't so I spent the next four hours in insomnia land. I think God was punishing me in a roundabout way. Anyhoo, I'm back in the city...to find that my inbox is filled with the usual spam and Facebook messages. No, D1ck 101, I do not want penis enlargement pills. I was born without that appendage, thankyouverymuch. And no, Abjit from India, I do not want to kindly accept your deposit of one million U.S. dollars in my name to some offshore bank in Papua New Guinea. Honestly. Facebook is...facebook. I do not know half of my friends, and haven't seen the other half in years. Oh, innernet!

Since my teamblog with Vatski is, well, dead, I've decided to transfer all my posts from that blog to here. They're mostly movie reviews in which I try to sound like a movie critic. Nothing dramatic. I have nothing new to post anyway. I haven't been writing much these days. After I'm done with the transfer, I might make a post on Battlestar Galactica and some recent movies/series I've seen and books I've read. But that's a big MIGHT.

My 2010 List

1. Take up running. I guess I'll start by doing short morning jogs at the Cebu City Sports Complex...next month because January is Sinulog month. 2. Speaking of which, I'm going to watch the Sinulog festival this year at the same venue. I'm not going to brave the streets though. 3. Learn to drive. I think I'm going to take driving lessons though instead of ask my Dad to teach me. 4. Get a passport. I don't have one, waaahhh ~ 5. Update Excursus . I am going to update my blogs anyway so I might as well include the website. 6. Finish coloring the first chapter of Brilliant at 3:00 a.m. I was going to finish it over the break but I got waylaid by holiday stuff and the usual chores. Will finish it this week, if circumstances permit. There's a wedding coming up and I'm trying not to go (read: desperately looking for a valid excuse). 7. Exercise more. I really need it because I still eat the same even as my metabolism is no longer up to par. 8. Paint our old pari...
